Folk Theology

Folk Theology is theology that has worked its way into church tradition but has no biblical basis. These are things that many of us may have grown up hearing and taken for granted that it must be scripture…maybe just because it sounds like it. Some of these ideas have found their way into sermons and bible studies, and many people have adopted folk theology without realizing it wasn’t from God or about God. The best way to protect yourself from empty and shaky worldviews is to dig in and test these ideas in the light of scripture. In 2015 we tested 4 popular sayings people often live by, and found them lacking truth and substance. This January, we'll examine 4-more ideas that are deeply woven into our current culture that should be tested. You won't want to miss this!
